A public information session was held on September 25, 2018 to provide information on the recent changes to the Planning Act. The changes to the Planning Act were introduced through Bill 139, “Building Better Communities and Conserving Watersheds Act, 2017” (the Act). The Act came into force on April 3, 2018. Learn more from the City of Mississauga’s website.

The Act also replaced the Ontario Municipal Board with the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT), made changes to the appeal process, and created the Local Planning Appeal Support Centre, all of which are intended to give communities a stronger voice in land use planning.
