|As the year ends, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It is also a time to reflect on the year that went by. Here are some highlights of what we achieved in Ward 7. |
Creation of Business Improvement Area for Cooksville – Council approved creation of a Business Improvement Area for Cooksville, pending ratification by local businesses.
Mandatory Inspection of Rental Buildings – Council Approved my motion to consider Mandatory inspections of rental buildings. Staff will report back on feasibility in Spring of 2020.
Re-Imagining Cooksville – Cooksville had its first Taste of Cooksville Festival and it was a day filled with great food, amazing music, and lots of other activities. It was a fun day for everyone.
Value for your tax dollar – Holding the line on taxes – I successfully worked to limit tax increases. As a result, the tax increase this year at the Regional level has decreased from the proposed 1.7% to 1.5%.
Safer Streets – 40 km/hr speed zones will commence in 2020 in certain neighbourhoods.
Accessible to my Constituents – Available by online chat every Tuesday 7-9pm, no appointment required:
I have held 9 in person town halls and more to come.
Once again, Happy Holidays to all. See you in the New Year!
