As the year ends, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It is also a time to reflect on the year that went by. Here are some highlights of what we achieved in Ward 7.

Creation of Business Improvement Area for CooksvilleCouncil approved creation of a Business Improvement Area for Cooksville, pending ratification by local businesses.  

Mandatory Inspection of Rental BuildingsCouncil Approved my motion to consider Mandatory inspections of rental buildings. Staff will report back on feasibility in Spring of 2020.  

Re-Imagining CooksvilleCooksville had its first Taste of Cooksville Festival and it was a day filled with great food, amazing music, and lots of other activities. It was a fun day for everyone.    

Value for your tax dollar – Holding the line on taxesI successfully worked to limit tax increases. As a result, the tax increase this year at the Regional level has decreased from the proposed 1.7% to 1.5%.    

Safer Streets40 km/hr speed zones will commence in 2020 in certain neighbourhoods.
