2020 Annual General Meeting SummaryOverivew of our meeting from February 20, 2020
The Erindale Village Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on February 20, 2020, at the Erindale Community Hall, pictured above. David Lawton, President, opened the meeting and provided general comments.
Janet Miazga then presented the 2019 financial statement which showed that the Association was in a good financial position. Janet then gave an overview of the 2019 Village events. In particular, the 40th Anniversary party, Fall Bowling Night, and Winter Social were all well attended and most meeting attendees agreed they would like to see the Bowling and Winter Socials planned again. Other possible events for 2020 include Cards Night, Yoga Class, and an adult Halloween costume party. Stay tuned for more details on our website.
Updates on the EV Royale Condo and Erindale Academy application reviews were given by David MacRae and David Lawton. The EV Royale Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) hearing was held in September 2019 and a decision is still pending. The city has advised that case decisions normally take at least 6 months.
The Erindale Academy had made an application in 2018 to physically expand their building. After being rejected by the city, they appealed to the LPAT, which rejected their appeal on February 7, 2019. Residents will be updated as new information is received.
Aaron Wouters reminded everyone that the EVA website www.erindalevillage.ca is continually being updated with a wealth of useful information for all residents. In addition, all members were encouraged to use email@example.com as a means of email communication with the Board. Aaron shared that the Membership Drive for 2020 will take place as soon as possible and that the 2020 Membership fee will remain at $20.
Constitution and By-Laws
A motion was tabled and approved to appoint a special committee to review and update the EVA Constitution and Bylaws. Dan Giampuzzi will head the committee (comprised of board members and residents) and will present an updated draft Constitution and set of Bylaws at the next AGM.
Other Village Topics Discussed

Protecting Erindale Village’s Historical Status
After being included in the City’s 2005 Cultural Landscape Inventory, we received an update in 2019 that Erindale Village’s historical value should continue to be protected.
