Piatto Restaurant News

A favourite for many of our residents, the EVA has recently learned that the Piatto restaurant will be closing its doors at the end of June for the last time.

A beloved fine-dining Italian restaurant in the heart of Erindale Village, Piatto has loyally served its guests for 34 years.

Piatto opened its doors in 1989 on the ground floor of an old-style house on Dundas Street West in Erindale Village. It was the second business venture for long-time friends and young restaurateurs, Tom Skrela and the late Sandro Julita. Their first venture was the historic Cherry Hill House, which opened in Mississauga in 1985. Since then, Piatto has been a local favourite and a regular meeting place for many, standing the test of time by weathering upheavals in food and restaurant culture.

We will miss Piatto Restaurant, and Tom Skrela, who plans to retire. The building is slated to be demolished to make way for the proposed Emerson House condominium.

We wish Tom and his staff all the very best as they transition to their new futures.
